Branding project for the
Summary: Lead.ro, Romania’s sports website of the future, launched in 2015 with a visual identity we created. The logo hints to a bird’s eye view on the stadium, the temple of sport. The symbol speaks about the site’s 360˚ scope, as it will cater to all the relevant sports for Romanians, including those often overlooked by the established media.
Lead.ro aims to ”weed out irrelevance, shallowness, noise, click-bait, sensationalism, gossip and the non-news,” as per the site’s founders, who already have a track-record in sports websites. Their tennis website 30-0.ro (which we have also rebranded in 2017) has been recognised for quality sports journalism since 2012.
Lead.ro promotes relevant, well-documented and well-written content that inspires readers through ”stories about people who never give up.” It will aim to ”leave a legacy” and make no compromise in quality as it grows its traffic. The publication will focus on the way the new generation of readers relates to information and technology. Therefore, it will continuously adapt and experiment freely.
Storience imagined the Lead.ro logo as a bird’s eye view on the stadium, the temple of sport. The symbol speaks about the site’s 360˚ scope. It will cater to all the relevant sports for Romanians, including those often overlooked by the established media.
Adrian Toca, founder 30-0.ro and co-founder Lead.ro said the logo was ”brave, dynamic and unexpected.”
We are incredibly proud of the Lead.ro logo. To us, it was very important it properly communicated the spirit of the new website. It has been warmly received not just by colleagues and partners, but also by our first readers, with whom we got in touch right after launch. We are lucky to set out with a visual identity that represents us well and makes us feel comfortable.
The L initial turns the stadium into a vector that conveys the essence of every sports race: motion, determination, courage, endurance, and agility. These qualities of the sports race will also be Lead.ro’s, as the publication brings a new perspective: fair-play, freshness and adaptation to today’s communication channels and devices, and to a new generation of readers.
Lead.ro was Storience’s first project for the publishing industry. We continued our collaboration with this client and launched a special educational project to explain handball to anyone interested via a digital, multimedia project.
